In one sitting: Work any plate for yourself, for gifts, for charity, for a stall, and sell what comes off your own hook. Please do not republish the written plate or its photographs anywhere else.
Reading the book means agreeing to this
Using Crochet Addiction, or making something from a plate in it, means these terms apply. They are short and none of them are buried.
The things you make are yours
Every plate is free to read and free to work, for good. Make it for yourself, as a present, for a charity blanket, for a stall or a market. Anything that comes off your own hook in your own yarn is yours outright, and that includes selling the finished piece. No permission is needed and nothing is owed. A line such as “plate from Crochet Addiction” beside a photograph is welcome and helps the next maker find the book; it is never a condition.
The text and the photographs are not
The written plate — the materials, the rounds, the counts, the notes — and the photographs and the layout of each leaf are the press's own work. Please do not:
- copy the plate text onto another site, forum, app or social account, whole or in part;
- bundle plates into a file, a booklet, a course or any product, paid or not;
- republish the photographs, cropped, filtered or otherwise;
- translate and republish a plate elsewhere without asking. Ask, and the answer is usually yes.
A link is a different thing from a copy
Linking is always welcome and never needs asking, on any site, in any group, to any number of people. The distinction is not politeness: a link sends the reader to the leaf, where the plate stays free, stays current and carries its errata. A copy freezes one version somewhere the corrections will never reach, and quietly ends both.
Proofed, not guaranteed
Wren works every plate and counts every round before it is set, and the counts and the finished measurement are an honest record of that sample. They are not a specification. Your yarn, your hook and your tension all change what comes off the hook. Everything in the book is offered as it is, without warranty, and no plate can be promised to behave identically in every fibre. The disclaimer says more.
Using the site
Read it, print a plate for your own table, come back as often as you like. Please do not scrape the site wholesale, point automated tools at it, or try to break the next-leaf form. A bot hammering that form is the one case in which a network address is used for anything: it is blocked.
Money
Nothing in the book is for sale. There is no shop, no paid edition, no membership, no download. If that ever changes, every plate already set stays free. The press may one day carry affiliate links or advertising; the affiliate leaf says so first, and neither ever changes what a plate says.
Leaving the book
Some leaves point elsewhere — a yarn mill, a technique explained well by somebody else. Once you have left, that site's own terms and privacy practices apply and the press cannot speak for them.
If these terms change
They may be tidied or added to. When they are, the date at the top of this leaf changes, and reading on means the current version applies.
A line here you cannot make sense of? Write to Wren or email hello@crochetaddiction.com; she answers these herself.
