The press keeps one thing about its readers, and only when they hand it over themselves. This leaf says what that is, where it sits, and how to have it struck out.

This leaf was last reset on 2026-08-24.

In one sitting: Read every plate without giving the press anything. The only record Crochet Addiction holds is the address you type into the next-leaf box, plus the first name, the page and the sending address that came with it — and one line to hello@crochetaddiction.com removes the lot.

The short list

When you send the next-leaf form, the press writes down:

  • the email address — the whole purpose of the list;
  • a first name, if you typed one, so the letter can open properly;
  • the leaf you signed up from, as a short path like /home-newsletter, so Wren knows which box is worth keeping;
  • the network address the form came from, recorded once, as the only defence the press has against a flood of automated signups. It is not looked at again unless such a flood happens.

The two optional boxes — which edition you work from and what you would like set next — go to Wren as a note about what to put on the bench, and are used for nothing else.

What is never written down

That is the complete inventory, and the absences matter as much as the list. There is no account and no login, so there is nothing to be locked out of. There is no profile: the press cannot tell you what you have read here, because it does not know. No record is kept of which plates you opened, how long you stayed, what you searched for, or where you went next.

What the list is for, and what it is not

One letter each time a new plate is set, carrying the plate and its count and nothing else. The list is not used for any other mailing. It is not lent, rented, sold or swapped, and if Crochet Addiction ever changed hands the list would not go with it unless you were written to first and said yes.

Having it struck

Every letter ends with an unsubscribe link, and the link works the moment you use it. If you would rather write, one line to hello@crochetaddiction.com does the same: the row is removed and you are told so, usually within the week and never later than thirty days. You may also ask what the row holds, or ask for a correction, and the answer will be the short list above with your own values in it. No reason is needed, and no “are you sure” sequence follows, because there is none.

Nothing else is running

As of the date at the top of this leaf, Crochet Addiction carries no analytics, no advertising tags, no social-media pixels, no heat-mapping and no session recording. A page here fetches its own text, images, stylesheet and scripts, and the type itself — one stylesheet from fonts.googleapis.com and the handful of font files it names, served from fonts.gstatic.com. Those are the only requests that leave this domain, and Google can see your network address when they are made. The press therefore cannot tell you how many people read a given plate, and considers that a fair trade.

If that ever changes

Should measurement or advertising be switched on, it will be done in the open: the date on this leaf changes, this section names the exact service, and the cookie leaf lists what it sets. An analytics service would see the usual aggregate things — page views, country, device — and never your name or your address. An advertising network would set its own cookies under its own policy, named here first. Two things do not change under any circumstances: no personal information is sold, and no plate is ever put behind an email box.

Letters

An email to hello@crochetaddiction.com, or a letter drafted with the form on the contact leaf, arrives in an ordinary mailbox and stays there so it can be answered. The form sends nothing to this website — it opens a message in your own email program — and writing in never adds you to the next-leaf list.

Where the list physically is

A single small database file on the same host that serves the site, outside the public folder, so it cannot be fetched over the web. It is not mirrored to any marketing platform or spreadsheet. It exists for as long as the list does and for as long as you are on it.

Readers under sixteen

The book is not written for children and the press does not knowingly keep anything about anyone under sixteen. If a child has typed an address into the box, write to hello@crochetaddiction.com and the row is removed at once, without a confirmation loop.

Rights, wherever you read from

Readers under the UK and EU GDPR and under California's CCPA have the right to see, correct, delete and object. The press extends the same four rights to everyone, because keeping two standards for a list this short would be absurd. The lawful basis for holding an address is your consent, given by sending the form; withdrawing it is the unsubscribe link.

Changes to this leaf

When anything here stops being true the leaf is reset and the date at the top changes. Nothing is edited quietly.
